What are my metrics, and how are they calculated?

This article will provide an overview of all metrics and their calculations.

Ever wondered how your Monthly Business Review and Facebook metrics are calculated? Well, wonder no more. Please review the attached table, which displays all metrics and their corresponding calculations.

Net Revenue

Services rev + services products rev + retail rev + packages rev + Custom Item Rev + provider owner tips + Invoice fees - Discounts - refunds - wallet dollar credits redeemed

Note: we subtract out wallet dollar credits redeemed at the end so that we don’t double count.

% of Net Revenue goal achieved  Actual Net Rev / Goal Net Rev
Paid Appointments Completed

Total number of appointments in the given time frame, where the invoice is greater than $0, and the status is “Complete”

Note: this does not include appointments that were fully paid for with wallet credits.

% of paid-appointments-goal achieved  Actual total completed paid appts/goal for completed paid appts

Avg. Invoice Value per Paid Appt

The sum of all invoices / # completed paid appointments
% Avg Invoice Value per Appt Goal Achieved Actual avg invoice value per appt/goal for avg invoice value
New Client Appts Number of first-time completed paid appointments
Returning Client Appts Number of completed paid appointments, where it is not the first appointment
Total Unique Clients serviced

Total number of unique customers (with at least 1 paying, completed appt) in the given time period.

Note 1: some clients may have multiple appts in the given time period, so this number will not equal the number of appts.

Note 2: this does NOT include people who had a first purchase (i.e. just retail item) from the medspa, with no appt

Total appointments from clients seen

Total number of appointments where the provider saw a client - regardless of invoice value

Services Revenue

The sum of revenue from services + sum of revenue from service-products

Note - this does not include discounts. It does include wallet credit dollars redeemed.

Retail Revenue

The sum of revenue from retail sales

Note - this does not include discounts. It does include wallet credit dollars redeemed.

Packages Revenue

The sum of revenue from packages sales

Note 1: the revenue for packages is counted at the time of package-purchase. Not at the time of package-redemption.

Note 2: this does not include discounts. It does include wallet credit dollars redeemed.

Custom Items Revenue

The sum of revenue from custom items

Note - this does include wallet credit dollars redeemed.

Provider-owner Tips The sum of total tips paid on appointments with a provider-owner
Fee Revenue

The sum of fees paid by clients (i.e. No Show, late cancellation, any fees added at the invoice level).

Note: This does NOT include any transaction fees - i.e. credit card fees 

Refunds

The sum of total refunds

Note: the refunds will be counted at the time the refund is issued - not at the time of the original appt. i.e., if there is an appt in September, and the client asks for a refund in October, and then the refund is issued in October, we will see the refund in the October numbers

Discounts The sum of total discounts on services, packages, and retail products
Retail-to-services % Total Retail Revenue / (Total Services revenue + Total service-products revenue)
Service Category AOV
Total invoice value for appts that include a service in the category / total number of appts that include a service in the category.

Avg spend per FB client Total dollars spent by new FB-generated clients in given time period / Total number of FB Completed Appointments
Return on Investment (ROI) Total Revenue / FB Ad Spend
