Connect Cherry account
1. On the Cherry integration page, you'll see instructions on generating and adding a Cherry API key to Moxie.
2. Let's look at the Cherry practice portal and generate one together. Log into your Cherry practice portal.
3. Once logged into your provider portal, click the settings (cog icon) in the left-hand navigation menu.
4. Click on API Keys > Generate API Key
5. Give your key a name, then click Copy & Activate.
❗Important - The key is invalid until activated using the Copy & Activate button. Copying the API key generated without activating it will result in errors.
6. After copying the key, return to Moxie Suite and paste it into the API key field.
7. Return to your Cherry portal and click on the Application Link icon at the top right corner of the dashboard > Copy Link.
8. Switch back to Moxie Suite and paste the Application Link into the Application URL field.
9. After filling in these fields, you can hit Save to connect your Cherry account to Moxie.
10. Once you've successfully connected your Cherry account, you can enable promoting Cherry right on the payment plans page. Plus, if your practice offers it, you can also showcase Affirm.
Customizing client messaging
Now that your Cherry account is all setup let’s update client communications by including a mention of Cherry and your Cherry application link. Let's start with the manual SMS text message.
1. On the Payment plans page, click Edit custom message.
2. We recommend adding your Cherry application link from your Cherry practice portal and copying it into this field. Click Save to confirm the changes.
✏️ Note - this is the messaging you will be able to send to clients directly from the appointment page who have expressed interest in Cherry.
3. We also recommend adding Cherry and the application link to standard client communications, especially the appointment confirmation email and text. Go to Settings > Client communication.
4. Under the booking section, click Edit custom message for both email and text. Then enter your custom message that will be sent alongside the pre-populated message.
✏️ Note - Need an example of what to share? See our example message below:
We now offer payment plans through Cherry. If you’re interested, please apply here before your appointment: [insert Cherry application link]. Looking forward to seeing you!
5. Once you’ve added all the information you’d like, be sure to hit Save to update everything.
Viewing client interest in Cherry
Now that Cherry is set up in Moxie Suite let's explore how to view client interest and track the status of their applications.
1. On the Schedule page, within the calendar view, find and click on an upcoming appointment.
2. On the Appointment overview page, you'll now see a new section titled Make the most of this appointment. This section will contain the client's interest in exploring Cherry and their application status. In the example below, the client has expressed interest but has not yet applied for Cherry.
3. Statuses include:
- Has not applied - this is the default status
- Has not applied | client is interested... - indicates interest in Cherry, but the client has not applied.
- Approved with the approved amount
- Not approved
- Not interested - client has expressed they do not wish to explore Cherry.
- Expiring soon with the approved amount and expiration date
- Expired with expired date and the previously approved amount
4. On the schedule list view, you can easily view if a client is interested in exploring Cherry. It will show their current status at a glance.
Sending applications to clients
Now that we've covered where and how to confirm a client is interested in exploring Cherry financing, let's discuss how to send an application via SMS text.
Within the appointment overview page
Click on the ellipses to the right of the application status field > Send Cherry application link...
If you've previously sent the application link, the button will instead read the Resend Cherry application link...
✏️ Note - The client will receive the text message you’ve set up on the payment plan settings page. This section walks through how to set this up.
Within the schedule list view page
In your list view, you'll notice the Cherry status displayed as Has not applied. Just like on the appointment overview page, click on the ellipses to the right of the appointment card and select Send Cherry application (or resend application).
💡 Tip - This can be a powerful tool for verifying who has expressed interest and sending messages to each of them. We encourage you to use the list view at the beginning of each week to quickly scan upcoming appointments and send applications to those who've expressed interest.
Client views
Let's examine what clients see when Cherry (and affirm if applicable) is enabled and promoted on your online booking link, client portal, and online store.
Online booking
On the online booking page, clients will see a banner announcing that your practice offers Cherry and/or Affirm payment plans.
Client portal
On the client portal, the client will not only see the same banner promoted on the online booking page but also see several options to explore, including:
- They can apply for Cherry financing directly on this page by clicking Check eligibility
- Confirm interest in exploring Cherry financing by clicking I'm interested to learn more (this will update the Cherry status in Moxie Suite to No application record mentioned here.
- Learn more about how to apply for and use Affirm to pay for services at your practice.
Online Store
Cherry financing is available exclusively for in-appointment purchases, so it won't apply to online store transactions. If your practice also accepts Affirm and decides to promote it, clients will see a banner during checkout. This way, they can easily select Affirm as their preferred payment option.
Tada 🎉! You now know how to enable the Cherry integration and keep track of clients interested in exploring Cherry financing.
